Continue reading to find out some of the frequently asked questions about Invisalign® orthodontics.
Is Invisalign® covered by dental insurance?
This question is best suited for our front office team, which processes insurance claims. Bring your dental insurance information with you to our practice so we can assess the coverage you have available. This often reduces or eliminates out-of-pocket costs associated with orthodontic services.
How does Invisalign® work?
The Invisalign® trays are made with 3D imaging of the smile’s current situation, and unique software designs a series of trays that can reposition the teeth where they need to be. You wear each tray in their series for two weeks before moving on to the next one. By the time you reach your final tray, treatment is complete!
How long does treatment take?
Invisalign® treatment typically takes around 12 months, depending on the severity of the misalignment and the compliance of the patient in wearing their trays as directed. Most patients find that wearing the trays at least 20 hours a day and removing them to eat, drink, brush, or floss will keep them on track for their targeted completion time.
Is Invisalign® painful?
The only discomfort noted by most of our patients is when a new tray is used, as the teeth may ache for a day or two afterward as they adjust to the movements being made.
