Whiter Teeth for the New Year

At Gentle Dental, we offer teeth bleaching to give our patients movie star-bright white teeth. People hear “teeth bleaching,” and they say, “Oh, you mean whitening, right?”

We don’t. At Gentle Dental we only offer teeth bleaching to make your teeth a brilliant white.

What’s the difference?

Here’s the difference between teeth whitening and teeth bleaching. Teeth whitening has the goal of returning the patient’s teeth to their original whiteness, minus the stains from coffee, blueberries, and the like. Teeth whitening is offered by most dentists as in-office procedures or also as take-home kits. You can also purchase over-the-counter whitening strips and other options.

Teeth bleaching doesn’t want to get to the patient’s original tooth color; it seeks to go beyond that and make the teeth whiter than their original color. How much whiter? Up to 10 shades whiter!

Teeth Bleaching at Gentle Dental

At Gentle Dental, we recommend in-office teeth bleaching for most of our patients with stained or discolored teeth. Why? Our in-office treatments are continuously supervised to be sure the bleaching agents are performing as expected, and the gums and surrounding tissues are not being affected.

Plus, we utilize stronger bleaching agents. That’s how we whiten your teeth beyond their natural color. And that’s why we only handle our bleaching treatments in our Edison offices.

Some people opt for home whitening treatments, but these present a mixed bag. The problem is that these treatments are not customized based on your tooth color and condition, as they are with our in-office treatments. Plus, they aren’t supervised by our technicians so that the user can suffer burns and damage to his or her gums.

How would you like to have dramatically whiter teeth for 2019? Call us at Gentle Dental (732) 549-5660 and ask about teeth bleaching.
