It means that we offer comprehensive diagnosis, preventive care, and treatment of common dental problems for patients of all ages. After all, it’s never too early, or too late, to take care of your teeth.

Plus, there are advantages to your entire family using Gentle Dental. It’s easier to keep track of your appointments. Payment and insurance filings are streamlined and easy to decipher. All of your family’s dental records are in one place, making continuity of care a breeze. Plus, if we see the entire family, it’s fun for us to get to know each of you as you progress through the years.

Here’s a list of our common family dentistry services, treatments, and procedures at Gentle Dental.

Oral health exams — This is a visual examination of the teeth, gums, and jaw to check for signs of decay, disease, bite misalignment, crooked or poorly spaced teeth, and other abnormalities.

Prophylactic cleaning — This involves the removal of plaque and tartar buildup. Prophylactic cleanings should happen every six months.

Gum disease treatment — Gum scaling and root planing fall into this category. If tartar has developed below the gum line, these treatments are the next step.

Fluoride / Sealants — Fluoride is proven beneficial in fighting decay. Sealants are used to fill deep pits in the molars to prevent food debris from collecting there, leading to decay.

Root canals — When the pulp inside a tooth is infected, a root canal can stop the pain and save the tooth.

Extractions — From pulling baby molars that have splintered to removing decayed or damaged adult teeth to removing wisdom teeth, we handle all extractions in-house at Gentle Dental.

Fillings & crowns — Fillings take the place of tooth material that has been removed due to decay. They can be metal amalgam or composite. Crowns, usually more extensive restorations, can be metal or ceramic.

Tooth whitening — Whether it’s coffee, red wine, tea, or tobacco, what you eat and drink can stain your teeth. Whitening removes those stains.
